As we come down into the final stretch of the spring missions conference season, the demand on your schedule can feel relentless. Whether you are navigating the logistics of the deputation and furlough trail, maintaining the steady pace of the mission field, or serving as a single missionary helping in various ministries, the biblical mandate remains: Ephesians 5:16 says “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil”. This month is not about merely being “busy,” but about the intentional stewardship of the minutes God has entrusted to you. True efficiency in the ministry is found when we stop trying to manufacture our own results and start aligning our daily itinerary with the Holy Spirit’s leading.
I. Prioritize your Private Walk over Itinerary

Regardless of your marital status or location, your public ministry will never exceed the depth of your personal walk with God. Stewardship begins by scheduling your devotional time as a non-negotiable meeting before the world, meeting schedule, or mission field makes its demands. If we are too busy to sit at His feet, we are busier than God ever intended us to be.
II. Look Out for Divine Appointments
For those currently setting summer and fall meetings, remember that stewardship isn’t just about a full calendar; it’s about the right calendar. Before starting on your phone calls, sending emails, or planning a trip, ask the Lord for “divine interruptions.” Sometimes the most productive part of your day is a soul-winning opportunity or a providential conversation that God placed in front of you.
III. Remember to Rest

Ministry is a marathon, not a sprint. Proper stewardship includes the humility to recognize your physical and mental limits. This month, build in intentional “rest moments” where the phone is off and your mind is resting in Christ. Taking time to recharge ensures you stay in the race for the long haul rather than burning out in the spring heat.
As we labor through April, let us remember that our time from the Lord is precious. Every mile driven and every door knocked is an investment—make sure you aren’t just spending your time, but redeeming it for the only Master whose “Well done” actually matters.
A Note for the Ladies:

Whether you are serving on the field or on the road, redeeming the time often means having the courage to prioritize your private walk over a never-ending to-do list. In the rush of spring meetings, hosting, or language study, it is easy to let what seems to be “urgent” crowd out the “eternal.”
True stewardship for the missionary wife or woman is recognizing that your greatest impact comes from a heart that has first found rest at the feet of the Savior. This month, look for those “divine appointments” in your busy moments—a conversation in the nursery or a simple meeting with a neighbor—knowing that time spent abiding in Him is never time wasted.
